Participating Farms and Kids Activities

Each farm will host a different free kids activity, enabling young visitors and the young at heart to get up close and personal with diversified, family farms supporting sustainable agriculture.

Kids Activity: Get wild and wooly with spinning demonstrations and a variety of wool felting activities using colored locks, rovings and a mess of slime and water. Wear boots to visit the animals!

UPDATE: Lucky Dog Farm Stay will no longer be on the August 5th Tour due to a family emergency. Please mark this change on your printed brochure or flyer.

Kids Activity: Tour the farm, stopping to see the various animals and the gardens and using a ‘farm passport’ to create pencil rubbings of the old stone foundation of the barn, various animal foot prints, and some vegetables too.

Kids Activity:  “Build a Bouquet” and learn about cut flower growing and harvesting. Leave with a colorful, big bouquet for your family!

Kids Activity:  Discover the power of renewable energy by making snacks in the solar oven and explore the farm – from solar panels to summer squash — with an “Inn Serendipity Sleuth Scavenger Hunt.”

Kids Activity: After a video introducing emus, we’ll tour the pen to see the emus up close, and visit the “Emu Store” for fun activity sheets, a piece of emu egg shell and a special “I Saw the Emu” sticker.

6. Sue Ellen Thompson-Link

Kids Activity: Discover processing of wool from the sheep to the product. Different stations will explain the various steps and care of the various wools.

7. Dela Ends
Scotch Hill Farm

Kids Activity: Explore the bean teepee, transplant a few fall veggie plants to take home, visit the goats, snack on some veggie treats fresh from the garden.
